Who is this Mini-Retreat for?
This Mini-Retreat is for you if you recognise yourself in {any one or more of} the following, are you:
- feeling tired or overwhelmed and in need of a break from exhausting personal or professional routines
- heading towards burnout while working in one or more stressful situations
- missing your ‘Ikigai’ ~ your ‘reason for getting out of bed in the morning’
- wanting to get back to knowing who you really are and ‘feeling more like yourself’
- ready to nourish and re-energise your body, mind and spirit in warm and welcoming surroundings and in great company
- open to active, shared and fun experiences, alongside quieter moments of personal reflection
How will this Mini-Retreat be hosted and what is included in the cost?
- Hosted in Lusty Beg, a luxurious & nurturing 75-acre private Island Resort & Spa
- Full board*, including three nights single occupancy accommodation in cosy and comfortable en-suite rooms, plus all meals & regular refreshments throughout the day. Shared rooms are available on request.
- All sessions and activities facilitated in a friendly, professional and confidential manner where you will be supported to share as much or as little as you want
- Maximum twelve participants so everyone can participate fully & benefit from personalised attention, as well as being part of a group experience with like-minded people
- Worksheets, templates and journals, to record your personal learnings and reflections, which are yours to take home for your continued use with future exercises or journaling (printed and/or electronic)
- All materials used during the week for crafting, illustrating, creative writing or simply for capturing and storing precious moments.
- Led by Michelle who has supported people through some of the most difficult challenges in life for over four decades and who will lead the sensitively, competently, professionally and always with compassion (read more about Michelle)
- Experienced support team in the room for additional help, guidance and assistance if needed
*NB Alcoholic drinks are not included but can be purchased at the Lodge Bar and Restaurant (including ‘Guinness by the fireplace’!!) where meals will also be served using fresh, locally sourced, seasonal quality ingredients, ‘prepared with care’ and ‘served with pride’.
What does the retreat programme look like?
A varied and flexible programme, including a blend of:
- purposeful conversations with peers and support team
- quiet times for personal reflection and restoration
- a series of workshop sessions for shared learning
- small group-based guided activities (and no, you don’t need to ‘be creative’ to benefit from these!)
- up-to-date research insights
- therapeutic musical interludes
- a respectful nod to Japanese philosophies
- simple and practical body-brain exercises and techniques for nervous system health and regulation
- tips and guidance for reducing stress and promoting long term healthy resilience
- opportunities for one-to-one support as needed
- laughter, fun, shared experiences, compassion, understanding
Be warned, this is not a relaxation retreat in the traditional sense. It will be active, informative and challenging. It will also be infused with gentleness and sprinkled with a sense of humour to encourage a truly meaningful and enjoyable experience. Early mornings are optional (and welcomed for the larks) and late nights are usual (for the owls amongst us)!!
